PRIVACY & SECURITY

More adventures. Less to worry about.

Planning with Sidequest can mean sharing a little about the children in your care. Here's what we use, how we protect it, and the choices you control.

A little information goes a long way

A child's age and interests help us suggest activities they'll enjoy. Child profiles use a first name or nickname, age, and preferences, without requiring a birthdate, last name, photo, school, or home address.

You can also create a plan as a guest. An account lets you save plans and preferences for next time.

Your information stays private

Your account's saved information is protected by access controls that keep other users from accessing it unless you choose to share.

Allergies and health notes receive additional protection. They're stored separately from ordinary profile information and excluded from public plan links and usage analytics.

You choose what to share

Only plans you choose to publish appear on your public profile. Public plan links hide children's names by default and exclude allergies and private notes.

You can set an expiration for a shared link or revoke it. Revoking a link stops future access through that link; it can't remove copies someone has already saved.

For joint outings, you choose which child preferences to share with the people you choose. That access requires sign-in and can be withdrawn.

Helpful memory, with your permission

Sidequest uses AI to create and refine plans using the details you provide, such as ages, interests, location, and available time.

If you mention a preference in chat, we ask before adding it to a saved profile. You can review, change, or remove saved preferences.

AI and other service providers process information to power features such as plan generation and local recommendations. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is used and which types of providers are involved.

Event discovery on your terms

Your Sidequest email address receives newsletters you subscribe to. We process emails sent to that address to find events and add them to your library. This feature doesn't require access to your personal inbox.

You choose which websites to follow and whether imported events are automatically added to your Sidequest calendar.

Improving Sidequest while protecting personal details

We measure how features are used, such as whether a plan was saved or an activity was completed, to make Sidequest more useful.

Child names, allergies, health notes, and the text of your chats are excluded from usage analytics.

Your information, under your control

From settings, you can export your data or request permanent deletion of your account and associated information. Our Privacy Policy explains deletion timing and any information we may need to retain.
